Even though the previous night was agitated and you could feel tiredness in their eyes, the nice guys from Polock, Spain, joined us with smily faces in the Sexroom and delivered a lovely version of “Faster Love”. They’re heavily touring all around the world after the release of their first album “Getting down from the trees”, so be sure to check them out!
Your average twenty one year old goes to university, lies about at home staring at the ceiling, or tears up the town at night with friends. But Polock have proven themselves capable of turning out sunny songs full of here and now and packed with catchy melodies. Everything a good pop band is capable of doing is in their debut album, which gives off freshness, trapping you immediately with its design.
Recorded in Berlin over two months, it is one of those albums which comes across as so easy, when the reality is it has been painstakingly put together. Before the release in Spain, record deals had already been signed in the US, Japan, Canada and Mexico. That’s what life’s like when you’re twenty one – fast and exciting, there is no time to think, no time to lose in living out your dream. If that sums you up, Polock is the group for your future, because everything is up for grabs in reality. “Gettin Down from the trees” is an ambitious record which will bring the future and excitement to pop music wherever it is found. With all possibilities open, life seems delicious.
